I just threw them in Sunova bags, grabbed the nose handle of the bottom board and dragged them through airports with zero issues.
Rick, do you put any extra padding / noodles or towels etc along the rails & nose/tail or have you just winged it?
The bags looked good to me, so I slid the board and paddle in, zipped them up and dragged them off. Lighter that way.
Note: I do take the handles and blades off my paddles and tape the shaft securely to the rail.... handles go in carry-on bag, blades taped to the bottom of the nose, with the hosel under the nose kick. I may have put padding between the hosel and the nose.
That eliminates the lumpy things that could damage the board if stuff was stacked on top of it.
