The Sunova bags are fairly bomb proof. I have trailered my board/bag behind my bicycle for 3 years over 200 trips with quite a few unexpected crashes where the trailer tips over. No damage to bag or board. Creek I believe has flown with his boards and these bags with no issues.

Bob is correct....
I just threw them in Sunova bags, grabbed the nose handle of the bottom board and dragged them through airports with zero issues.

Rick, do you put any extra padding / noodles or towels etc along the rails & nose/tail or have you just winged it?

Red Dot or Reject shop etc have pool noodles for $2 with a convenient hole in the middle so you can easily cut them down the middle and tape them to the rails. At that cost and small hassle just do it anyway for the peace of mind.

The bags looked good to me, so I slid the board and paddle in, zipped them up and dragged them off. Lighter that way.

Note: I do take the handles and blades off my paddles and tape the shaft securely to the rail.... handles go in carry-on bag, blades taped to the bottom of the nose, with the hosel under the nose kick. I may have put padding between the hosel and the nose.
That eliminates the lumpy things that could damage the board if stuff was stacked on top of it.
