Had to move from Perfect 3
I had 5 boards from 8'6 to 10'2 that I used regularly for different types of waves . Learned a lot from them and realize we are blessed with a variety of local waves from beachies to sheltered corners, points n bommies , inner bay runners to BIG outer rollers.
In rebuilding my quiver wants are....
Short as, low volume , to challenge - have - 8'6 Smik Hipster Twin
9'0 Mini mal , noserider, performance rear , fun board - currently GL ,looking forward to getting Smik
10' Longboard, noserider ,performance rear - custom Smik Hipster Twin Longboard here soon ( could swap out for custom 12' low volume, thin specs )
Logg - have - JL BnB 10'1 with deep nose concave
Semi gun , 9'5 to 10'6+ - still looking , maybe even something like the Venom to get in early way out back .
I haven't tried DW or foiling.... YET

9'2 Jimmy Lewis Stun Gun - had it for years, great for when there is a bit of size but not the best on a slow fat wave.



10' x 29 Sunova Style - I never really surfed longboards, I went straight from short boards to SUPS, which kept getting shorter, then (after regularly surfing another fav, my 12'6 DC on the tiny wave I usually get in front of my place) I decided it was time I got a longboard type board for smaller waves and to learn to trim/cross step etc



Which left a bit of a hole in the quiver that the
8'3 ONE filled perfectly, great allrounder and changing between Thruster and quad fins just broadens its range.



Race SUP's

I live in WA so downwinding is my thing all summer, I was using a 24 DC which was great but I needed something 'comfortable' for the longer races the 'Doctor' and the KOTC

The 14 x 26 ONE Storm was a perfect fit.
If I could only have one board it would be this one.



When the surf and the wind aren't co-operating I usually just do some training paddles either on the flatwater or on the ocean so my choice was.

Yet despite all of these all I want to do these days is ride my foil board, I have a new 6'8 on the way, when that arrives it is going to be hard to decide which one of the above to drop.

The Blurr is going to replace the Infinity B-Line 7'11 x 27'' (85,5 liters) that I still have, the RS 14'0 x 23'' is going to replace the 24.5 that I still have, the Bayonet is going to replace the Bullet 17'4 that I sold a couple of months ago and the RS Air-Glide is going to replace the FX Air-Glide I sold last month.
Only problem is that I also ordered an Infinity Tombstone Foil SUP 6'6 x 26'' (105 liters)! Can we start a thread with the perfect 6 boards quiver?

Flight Rocket 8'2"x28 91 liter (Bill Foote shape)- Best short board I have ridden,bought it used cheap and love it.

Flight Malolo 8'x28.75 105 liter- Best small wave fish I've ridden, bought it use and cheap

Bill Foote Custom Rocket 8'4"x28.75 ?? liter (on order)- Ordered this having loved the 8'2" Rocket, sized for bigger waves, chop and a winter 6/5 wetsuit.

Flight LB1 9x28 106 liter long board (on order)- After the above track record, my guess is it's good!

Flight Step Up 9x29 114 liter - Have only ridden it a couple of times. Reserved for big waves. Paddles fast, makes the drop, stable, predictable, reminds me of my Stun Gun's, but lighter and fits me better.

I guess my quiver is in flux. I have a bunch of boards that aren't on this list. Looks like they'll hit the used board market this spring.

Yep, I actually have a 7 board quiver... here is its current state:





Organized by length, right to left:
- Foilboard: Short, Simmons-like foilboard 6'10" x 30" x 125l (regular Gong AS SUP + addex box & straps) + Gong Allvator foil. I will surely upgrade to the future foil-dedicated Gong boards with the same outline but different rails, thickness and hull.
- Small and weak waves board 6'10" x 31.5" x 125l (Gong One)
- Powerful board with max acceleration, small/medium punchy waves 7'3" x 29.75" x 105l (Gong Fatal). Quobba fins
- Hollow powerful waves 7'4" x 28" 115l (Gong Fatal, 2016 shape)
- Smooth carving fast board for clean conditions 7'11" x 28.75" x 105l (Gong Karmen) 6.2kg with pad.... Quobba fins
- Same, oversized for bumpy/fat/windy conditions 8'4" x 30" x 120l. Quobba fins
- Longsup for noserides and cross steps 9'3" x 27.5" x 118l (Gong Moblog SP) and flatwater cruising, if I ever do it again.

I also have a Gerry Lopez 8'10" x 120l "little Darling" in full carbon that I keep for sentimental reasons in the house to lend to my daugthers. It loses too much speed in turns for me, but I cannot sell a 50 years birthday present :-)
And a 10' inflatable for the wifey and friends.

I use only Quobba fins on my fast boards, and play with Al Merrick and Jason Stephenson FCS II fins on the others.

Leashes are O&E One, or Creatures. I just bought an hexagonal section Channel Island leash to test, and it looks interesting: it seems to tangle less, and does not stretch too much.

I use a Gong Pro 8" carbon paddle, cut to my height.

I am actually using a 6 boards quiver: on the 7 above the "Hollow powerful waves 7'4"" stays in the garage. Here in Hossegor, hollow powerful waves are crowded, so I rarely used it. I'd rather use a wider tailed Karmen or Fatal, to be able to go to less powerful peaks without crowds.

But what board to remove for a 5 board quiver? hard to say, it could be the One, I would use the Fatal 7'3" or Moblog instead. Or keep only one of the Fatal 7'3" and Karmen 7'11", but I cannot decide which.

I literally use all of my boards....
every session, I look at the conditions, then look into the van..... one of the boards always jumps out as the right fit.

No real rationale behind it! Rode a few of Scott McKerchers designs when he was with Starboard and liked them.

A friend of mine has recommended them and he only rides longboard sups now........ so wouldn't mind giving one a go.

Wouldnt mind having a shot on the Infinity New Deal also........ I like trying new things.

One thing about the New Deals is they are crazy light! 16-17 pounds with pads and fins.
I won a bet with a buddy. My 9'6" weighed 16.2 pounds on a postal scale. Way lighter than any others! And bomber.

That 9.6 is the one that interests me, though it seems out of step with the others, which are quite narrow?

I'd like to know a bit more about these, but don't want to get off track with this thread.

Perhaps a a new thread to discuss the Infinity and Smik longboards? Both companies pushing the boundaries in this area.

tightlines - that 8 3 one you have - is that a custom?

I couldn't see it in their catalogue - is it similar to infinitely RNB ?

Inspiration .
Its great to see how focused shorter wave stylest's are with their incremental quiver's .
Though to the broader short to down winder quiver's.

Great post - here's mine:

7'6" JL Super Frank Lean - Anything slow and mushy, which is basically everything where I live.
8'8" JL SuperTech - Step-up board for waves with power
10"1" JL Black and Blue - Noserider, love it
14' Custom - Bought 2nd hand, basically just to get out on flatwater, mostly in the summer when there's no waves.

So, that leaves one spot.........which will probably a foil or another longboard shape.

Yes, love it, favorite board in my quiver. Sucks to the wave when you walk to the nose.

It seems I amless about surfingthan most people on the board.

I have a cheap little 9'9" GoPlus iSUP that I started on. I am keeping it or replacing it with a similar one at some point, largely for the game of SUP polo we play in one of my paddle groups, but also nice to have a board that can spend most of the summer in the trunk, just in case.
I have a 2016 Glide 14x30 because I like touring and fishing in the open ocean. I like stability and capacity.
The next board I want is a Naish NALU 10'8". A little light surfing and touring. In terms of functionality, it's the board I hoped my iSUP would be when I got it. I am not really a surfer, but would like to do some when it's not too big.
A BOTE HD 10'6" with rack and fishing accessories for inshore and freshwater fishing.
Then another Naish - the inflatable One 12'6". This would be out of convenience; ease of transport but a good performer.

My current quiver after 5 years SUPing and lots of testing and adjusting from 7"10 - 11" boards...having come from longboard/ short board background and at 82-84kgs, 58 years, surf mostly beach break and point break's 2-3 times week.

10"6 x 30" Nalu GTW for fat slow high tide 1 to 1.5 waves, nose rides ok. Great for just chilling and going to sleep between sets.

10" x 28" Nalu Carbon pro, perfect for chest to overhead fast breaking punchy beach breaks, great for snaps, reo's and cutbacks only ride it with quads, comfortable on the nose with 5 over. (My go to everyday board).

8"3 x 32 Hokua, I only take it our for mushy waist high rubbish and when I want a change from the glide. Just pump and go with occasional snap, to much rail though...only gets wet when I'm bored.

10"x 29" DC NSP surfix carbon, love it on my backhand and fast down the line point breaks, pin tails and rails just scream speed blur...flatter rocker so easy quick paddler compared to Nalu pro, makes a nice change when light onshore conditions compared with the Nalu pro.

Reluctantly sold my 9"6" x 28 Runway, nice low volume rails and scoop nose, great nose rider.

Casso there's a big gap in your quiver between 7'11 and 10. Why are discriminating against 8, 9 and even 11?

Sheesh, I just counted my boards. I currently have 14, plus an inflatable, plus a foil board. It may be time to sell something...

My favorite five are:

8'7, 8'10, and 9'1 Acid - weather, surf, and body weight dictate which I use. I normally ride reef breaks, but in January it is all beach breaks.
14' Search (should have bought the 12') for fun, long paddles, and riding bumps
8'10 Speeed for clean down the line almost-nose-riding fun (probably should use the 10' Style but I have never clicked with that board)

(I do own other brands, but the above work for me right now.)

(I am 56, 96 kg at this moment, 6'3)

8 6 x 30 x 125l SMIK clean up to 2x OH
9 6 x 28.5 130l Sunova AKA Rosie. Clean OH to whatever
10 x 29 130l SMIK longboard Swiss Army knife. Great for lumpy windy days
10 x 28.5 PSH AKA Woody. Wall hanger that comes out for huge windy days
7.6 foil board new project. We will see.
