Mind you, if I remember correctly, the Aussie titles marathon race last year was self-started by the paddlers, after everyone paddled out too far from shore to hear the starter gun or siren or whatever it was supposed to be.

I was suprised to see the jet ski going through the pack near the start and so close to the lead guys???
