Andrea Moller's wordsAll I can say is that it is painful. I always thought that if you didn’t fracture a bone your pain would be less. But I’m proving myself wrong - by being my own guinea pig. I detached and tore my hamstrings after a wipe out at Jaws. I’m not really sure if that actually describes the injury. The surgeon explained complete avulsions of 2 muscles with the 3rd muscle hanging on by a string, with major bleeding and damage. Well, I can assure you this has been a tough one for me. I’m trying to ignore the spasms and learn to enjoy things that don’t involve sitting, walking, running, surfing, or even the simplest move of putting my own pants on. I’ll be forever a different paramedic. One that better understands the needs of each individual patient. I’m already a changed person. Appreciation for help has a whole different meaning. Thank you everyone who has been side by side with this challenge. Recovery is my mission now. Any little movement is a huge progress - and I'll appreciate every single bit of progress until I get back on my feet 100%. I believe in positive thinking. #humbled #positivethinking #helpinghands
