morning seabreazers,
yes, my first post. But I've been enjoying reading this forum for a number of years now. Bought my 3rd SUP about a month ago. Sunova speeed 8'5. Read a heap about them on these forums, and must admit, the hype is true... what a fantastic, quick board.
Took the board on its first plane ride this week... sunova bag, a heap of additional padding and some luck... and it survived the baggage handlers.
now the bad news. So desparate was I to get out on the board, I broke all my normal rules and went out when conditions weren't the best.... beach break, high tide, large shore break.
buggered around for a while, catching 3sec rides, then decided to call it quits. Carefully picking my spot to come in, conscious I could end up nose diving into the shallow sand. Truth is I may have been distracted by a female jogger on the beach... anyway didn't see the wave until I felt the back lift and then... slam, front end of speeed shattered, massive cork to my quad, and a bruised ego.
ive spent the rest of my holidays watching everyone in sundry surf some nice point breaks in perfect conditions.
anyway, cutting to the chase, anyone have a good recommendation on a shop that can repair sunova boards in Melbourne VIC?
From the Sunova Website - VICTORIA Shops
SHQ BoardSports | 81 Beach Rd, Sandringham, VIC 3191, +61395982867 (close to Melbourne)
SHQ BoardSports | 6, 1401 Point Nepean Rd, Rosebud, VIC 3939, +61359821007
I had my Sunova repaired by Vanda Surf in Jan Juc. He's an authorised repairer for Firewire so he's used to repairing Timber boards. Quick and relatively cheap.
There's a thread on this, a guy broke the nose of an Acid and had it repaired by OKE.
Have a look at the thread..

Thanks guys. Yep just noticed the Acid thread and looks like I'll head to OKE. Cheers for the advice
