I am looking for advice on inflatable SUP's. I am looking to get a downwinder but do not have the space to store it, I reckon 12ft is as big as I can store. I have been looking at the Starboard Astro Touring 14', is this a suitable board for downwind in and around Port Phillip.

This is what you want. The new 2016 starboard racer inflato.
Apparently the most rigid inflato to date with carbon rails and dual stringer down the middle this thing really should be fun to down wind and race if an inflato is what you need storage wise etc..
With this new model I wouldn't waste my money on anything previous to this
I understand the 12'6" x 26" version is going to weigh around 7kg. No doubt the bigger sizes will also be ridiculously light as well.

is that with air or with out
This pretty impressive I say.. if the hard rails and dual stringer take away most of the wobble you get on a isup this new 12'6 by 26 could be a good option for a BOP board in small to calm surf..

Yeah especially on the buoy turns where you can paddle it like you stole it.
Anyone else agree that rubbing is racing, come on down. Not so many takers from the $4k plus carbon race board owners?
These inflato race boards are less than half the price, weigh around 2kg less, can practically fold up into carry-on luggage and are rumoured to be stiffer than Dirk Diggler the first time he met Roller Girl.
So tell me again why we are so hell bent on resisting inflatables in elite racing?
Red Paddle 12'6"x28" will work well
I agree.. and I know someone local selling one.. ![]()

because for the moment all the claims that manufacturers made never worked out like the claims.
I have an inflatable and train on it the winter for storage reasons. But I can assure you as soon as there is some wind it is a pain.
As much as everyone I wish and hope that one day they will be good enough to race them in DW but unfortunately we are still far from that...
The 2016 sic catalogue lists a 14 ft v2 bullet inflatable
Is it a hollow core construction?
