I have an adjustable carbon paddle and have had it set at the same length for sometime. Now I find I can't adjust it as it has seized up with salt water (I know my bad I should have been washing it in fresh water after each paddle). Any ideas on how to free it up as brute strength has failed as has running it under hot water.
Probably sand as well. Loosen the clamp screw, put the whole thing under water, push in as well as trying to pull it out.
If you have a a large bath or barrel or something, (yeh I know, who has a barrel these days?) you could leave the relevant section it submerged for a while.
Otherwise or in addition to the above, spray the relevant section (once dry) with silicone lubricant.
I would try boiling water on the outside section only and somehow keep the inner section cold.. and you need a person at each end twisting rather than pulling..
This was and still is a common problem with two piece windsurfing masts.. and almost all adjustable paddles..
I once tried to twist one apart myself by putting the blade in a slot in the side of my house and twisting the end piece.. and all I did was twist the shaft out of the blade..

It's probably sand.
You need to shake it from the centre, so that each end wiggles up and down. You can use a mallet to get it started. Once you've got movement then keep shaking, and apply outward force. It should come apart eventually.
