Can't wait to paddle this.
This event is the first leg of our local three week downwinding plan. Going to be a trailer load of Bunbury frothers up for this. How good is that cover shot?
Sunday forecast, blowing 21 knots SSW, down winding heaven. We will be pairing up with people new to DWers to offer tips & keep them safe. Register to ride & glide :))
Great conditions forecast. Those new to downwinding, trying their first session - don't be put off by the conditions, you want wind - wide, surf board type boards are perfect for DW. Your balance is actually better with a following breeze.
Those that have newer race boards, think stability first - and maybe consider a shorter, wider board if you aren't as confident on your long board yet.
Remember it isn't a race - we will all be together in a supportive environment. Those that want to go fast are more than welcome to tho.
Cheers
Greg
Greg,
My mate and I are thinking of doing the race on our YOB 10'2x32's. Would that be fine?
Cheers
Luke
Perfect choice. The wind will push you down to Swannee. Past couple of years we have had young ladies on 9foot boards having a pleasant chat all the way down.
Looking like great conditions for the Ship 2 Shore down winder today,
11am and it is already 20knts !
Onwards and upwards ! / could get to 25 or so yet ??
Great shots Maxeeboy, was a great day thanks to Starboard and The Shorehouse, also massive thankyou to the boys on the boats at Fremantle Sea Rescue, these guys are volunteers and do a massive job in very trying and uncomfortable conditions, as Sea escue is a volunteer organisation they depend on donations for funding, so if you have some spare change and can flick them a few bucks they would greatly appreciate it..Good on ya SUPWA (especially Luke Jenkins) for another great event, bring on the KOTC.
