Hi All,
New to the Forum and the SUP World. My 14 Yr old Daughter would like to get involved so i am wondering if i could get some information from you regarding the type of board, length etc, what to look out for etc. If weight and height is a consideration she ways approx 48Kg's and is 160cm tall.
Any help will be greatfully appreciated.
Cheers

hi mate
my best advice would be
take her to a demo day if you can, that way you can find out what sort of length she likes,
try and pick up something second hand or last years model, compared to new as you can save a fair bit,
if she hasn't finished growing an adjustable paddle is good,
hope this helps

I agree with PT Woody, (There's a 1st time for everything) The inflatables are becoming popular with this age group as they're easy to use and safe. A number of kids can jump on them at once and you don't need to worry about anyone getting hurt. All the major brands have inflatables. Fanatic have just launched a specific kids range of inflatables. You can see them on their web site or they should be appearing on the Fanatic Sup Australia Face Book page over the next week or two.
Hi,
What type of SUP will she be doing? Surfing and flat water? Flat water at the beach, touring or racing? Just surfing? Has she SUP'ed before?
The answer to these questions will help you decide what you should be looking for.

find a SUP school near you and take a lesson or two they will be of great benifit to her and they should be able to help with any gear questions.
