I have just collected my repaired Search GPS watch from my local surf shop. This is the 6th time it has been repaired or replaced since I purchased it in November 2015. The 5th time I was given a brand new watch, then this went back in after 2 months as it would not link to my iPhone.
The previous times the watch had the complete insides replaced twice and the rest just "Fixed". I have lost a serious amount of surf info including a major surf trip to Indo

Major issues have been:
- Won't connect to iPhone
- Press the buttons and all that comes up is the "Full" battery sign
- Won't locate a satellite
- Won't turn on at all - just shows a plain white face.
- Press the buttons and nothing happens - but does a great job of showing the time.

I love the features of this watch, however....................................

Has anyone else had problems with their Search GPS?

I convinced mates of mine to also buy them......One went for a surf with me on Monday and the watch recorded everything.....except the wave count.

Before someone tells me to go out and buy the Nixon Mission - I did and hated it

I took a job in indo a few years back and the girlfriend boaught me a GPS watch before i left. I've had it nearly 3 years now and never had a problem with it.

Its a bit of a gimmick really, a nice gift, but i don't think i'd ever buy one for myself.

Being in the water should be an escape from technology. Just surf.

Had one for a couple of years now and no problems at all, a few mates have them as well and all very happy with them, great for downwinding as the count the runners.

Yeah I also got that watch
it worked well for two months but now it won't download to the iPhone
pretty disappointing considering how much it costs
the shop said that there's no warranty and have to pay to get it fixed
everything works except for downloading to the phone

They come with a 12 month warranty. Contact Rip Curl direct if you have any issues. The warranty extends by 12 months with each repair

Recently mine started to play up and wouldn't log onto my phone. Downloaded and connected to my lap top and found a firmware update. Fixed everything for me..

Has anyone found something that will clean the white band though

Thats my biggest problem and keep thinking to replace it, but hard to justify just for a want of a good clean. I have tried almost everything..
