How much effect does using your paddle have when turning, a lot of videos show riders just dragging the paddle on the water and only digging them in when they want to do a snap, being new to sup riding and from a surfing background I find Ill dig my paddle in on forehand bottom turns but on my backhand i forget all about it,does it make a huge difference to turning-thanks

Definitely makes a big difference when used properly. The paddle is a force multiplier and stabiliser and I find helps me to turn much more critically when I use it right...just need to work out how to do it all the time!!
