Hi guys,
I'm fairly new and riding a Nalu GT 10'6.
I am interested in an estimate in the difference in pace between the mentioned boards.
Obviously the exact speeds depend on the rider, but it might be possible to give estimates of possible paces for both boards, and how big the difference might be.
Unfortunately I'm not able to test myself.
Hopefully the question made sense.
I am thinking that the Nalu isn't very fast, and am thinking about switching to a faster board.
However, I'm both riding in a fjord with relatively flat water, and from there out in the ocean with pretty high chop, so the board would need to be able to handle that.
Is the Glide not a good compromise between a race board and a board that can handle chop?
How big would the difference in speed be? If it isn't noticeable, putting a lot of money on a new board obviously wouldn't be a good idea.
What kind of speed do you manage now on your Nalu, and what kind of increase in speed would you consider noteworthy?
I just got my Garmin 920xt and haven't been able to test on the water yet, so I'm not sure of the pace.
What pace would be realistic for a decent paddler on the Nalu vs the Glide? Is the difference bigger than 20 percent?
Glide 11.6 will be faster. You will also be able to paddle at a faster pace for a much longer distance due the extra glide.
The Nalu is a great board for cruising around on flat water but it has way more rocker than the Glide making it slower over a distance.
Hard to put a % on it but it will defiantly be noticeably faster.

agree with Luke .go all the way 12.6 or 14 ' footer ,made for the ocean .
since buying my 14 'Javelin early last year ,everything feels slow .
