Naish are one of the best when it comes to warranties.. Get your local Naish dealer to look into it for you.
Hmm, i just got a warranty issue declined by Naish International. The bottom of my Naish Javelin 14 x 24 2017 looks like a cardboard. My shop says that it isn't my fault so she asks for an explanation from Naish Int. Naish says that the Javelin has a soft carbon bottom so it belongs to the product which I hardly can believe when I buy a board of eur 3,000. Than I don't expect a board of this price range with such a short lifespan of hardly 7 months after buying new. Very dissapointed in this brand and how she handles her clients when it comes to warranty. Greetings, Hans.
Something doesn't seem right here. "Soft Carbon"??
Anyway. The Carbon Elite construction is just that. Built for the elite paddler who want the lightest board to give the best possible performance. Like with any sport, there is limitations to durability when you are using equipment that is intended for use by the pro/elite. The 2017 Javelin and Maliko both have a full carbon bottom, which is the lightest possible and provides an excellent skin tension. However if the board is exposed to excess pressure through inappropriate use in the surf, breaking waves or similar, it can in some cases result in damage.
This is always a debate that comes up every year, the Pro/good/competitive riders want lighter at the cost of durability and the punter wants durability at the cost of weight. Both are valid. You'll be happy to know that for 2018, we went full sandwich on the bottom of the board and added more glass. The 2018 Maliko will be extremely strong, maybe too strong, and I am sure we will loose a handful of elite due to the added 3-500 grams.
If you honestly believe your board is displaying symptoms of Material Failure, faulty Manufacture or Poor Workmanship (with in it's designed expectation as an elite board), then I suggest you get your shop to re-visit your claim, and ensure they provide the correct information in relation to what your concerns are, not just "this shouldn't of happened, replace my board". Helping support pictures with factual information on what has actually happened and why you believe it is warrant-able. If your board has simply been overloaded from waves pressure, then it will not be approved.
I hope this comes across the right way. Naish 100% stand by their products, materials and workmanship and builds equipment chosen by the elite athletes of our sports. Their gear is tested in environments we surf in our dreams by professional athletes who push their gear to the limit.
Thanks for chasing Naish,
Ride safe,
JB
