How did you know.. I actually did do two years of engineering at Swinburne university .. The tape usually holds fine but because I stuck to the old base layer I should have washed off the dried salt water residue before trying to stick new tape to it.. Plus I tried a new longer arm extension on one side only causing it to be very unbalanced.. It was hard to paddle with it wobbling around and once the tape had torn completely I tied it to the leash plug and had to paddle on my knees to avoid any sudden rocking and help paddling across and almost into the side off shore NE wind.. I landed besides Brighton sea baths.. Bummer because it was just starting to get really good..

Yes it's usually not until the third year of an engineering degree that they get into thermal adhesive theory.

Great work DJ, always enjoy watching your clips. I haven't had the chance to try a downwind board (new to the sport and currently use a Starboard Whopper), but I am so impressed with the ability of these boards to pick up the skates and cruise along that I might just have to get one. I will assume your board is a 14' (excuse my ignorance if it is glaringly obvious that it is a different size). Keep 'em coming!

Thanks.. My board is a 14'x28" GX Jav..

These big boards soon start feeling pretty small once the wind and waves pick up..
