Cool vid DJ.
A couple of questions, what width is that board your on and is there a difference in shape between your board and the equivalent size glide?
Hey DJ - I really enjoy your videos and have two unrelated questions: what software do you use to stabilise your gopro footage; what brand is your coil leg rope? Thanks

Thanks..
I just use old GoPro 2's set on 720 and use imovie to edit.. I don't use any stabilizing software..
The leash is the half straight and half coiled Balin Monster coil.. www.balin.com.au

My 'long cool girl' board is the 2015 14'x28" GX Javelin.. ![]()
I think the 2015 14' Glides only come in 29" and 30" widths now and only in the heavier GS construction..
The new Glides are awesome boards but the Jav like mine is noticably lighter and slightly faster in most conditions..
But downwinding the Jav comes at a cost.. You need to move more to make the shape work well on downwinders.. But you get rewarded if you do..
The Glides are more forgiving on downwinders.. so you don't need to move around them quite so much..
The added nose rocker on the Glides also helps slightly on downwinders but you loose out slightly to the flater Jav on flat water..
I think someone new to downwinders is better off on the Glides.. Especially larger people that need the added width..
I think it was last Thursday.. I just plucked some more footage out that wasn't used in my last vid before deleting the files off my computer..
btw.. I was down there this morning at about 10.30 for that 25-35 knots that came through early but just when I was about to hit the water the rain started and the wind dropped.. and started to turn [to the west].. I should have been there an hour earlier.. Bummer.. ![]()
Wish I had watch the video this morning, I may not have been quite so harsh today. Just purchased the track and put it on my ipod,
Thank you twice,
Darryn
Great vid the Music worked so well Cheers
Cannot wait to see next years board as this one looks like a real challenge and yet you have made it work.
Hat off 2 ya.
Im impressed how you never let the nose of that board get anywhere near the water![]()

As you know what makes a good DW board is how it deals with pearling..
As you can see in my vids the Jav handles pearling like a champ.. No boof.. No sprinkler.. No catching.. and no stopping and loosing all your speed.. The Jav goes through the water like a hot knife through butter.. The big nose volume brings it up quick and the triangle shape deck means no catching in side winds like some other boards out there..
Glad you brought that up.. ![]()
