I can't figure out why companies make vids to promote their product, then don't back up the talk with action.
I am sure they have footage that demonstrates the special features of that shape... why use clips that are so blah?

Agree 100%, Laird could have easily been on a crap board in that first action clip, and probably surf it just as well. And with that clip of him shooting the Malibu pier, he wasn't the only one who did it that day, just the only one using a "Surrator".

I test rode it late last year in very crap mushy onshore conditions.
It is more designed for steep barreling waves and the serrated edge holds you in the face much higher than a normal board will allow.
As the conditions were poor to say the least it is too hard to call if the board rides as it is designed to, but in went pretty good in the mush.

I did a little video of the board outline etc showing the rail profile and got the rundown from the Australian Distributor on the benefits. I will edit it up tonight and post it when finished.

The board I rode was a carbon /PVC board and was very light and strong, but I have no idea on the RRP when they are released.

I will be getting it back to test in bigger stuff in the next month or 2 so will get some footage of it in action

Makes total sense to me. The concept work amazing in a snowboard and it wasn't accepted at first by the snow community. But when you ride it the effect it has is obvious. I can see how it would work in water but the traditional surfboard shapers are too one dimensional in their thinking. SUP shapers on the other hand will try anything which is great IMO.

I bet you will see it on a surftech surfboard in the next 1 or 2 years.

I finally got around to finishing this clip.
It is not the best quality as it was filmed on an iPhone as my camera battery died, and I put Dave (Laird distributor) on the spot asking for a run down of the board
It's more just to show the rails and outline of the board,

Just like the phazers that we used to see on the bottom surfboards, it looks like a glasser's nightmare.
