Conditions look perfect for the outer reef on Saturday. I surfed the island last weekend for the first time which was excellent but crowded. The crew was very mellow though and I sticked far left with the SUP. One dude was bitching about SUPs, door-mats and goat-boats while he was surfing a kneeboard, ha ha! The scariest part was anchoring in the channel and one boat copped a large set on the stern. I am keen to try some of the other spots around there that are SUPable. If anyone else is heading that way on Saturday or have some info they're will to share on other spots that can work out there please send me a PM. I have 4.5m tinny so transport is not a problem. Now only if I can get some snapper to come on the bite after a good surf session on Saturday

Amazing - the same happened to me a fortnight ago at Nusa Lembongan! Probably the same guy with his very unfortunate outlook on life.

Use to surf, windsurf and SUP out there ALL the time. Never had a boat. Would paddle from the dog beach 1.9kms out.
Paddled heaps out there with Windy Miller, Belly and Surf4fun.
Just south across the channel from the main wave is a left when big and high tide.

If you paddle further south and a bit further out to sea there is a bombie that breaks out there.

Then paddle south again and there's a left and another right off that. Good fun to surf when the island is packed with flappers.
It's all about the search.
Blast from the past

Yeah I paddle out there a bit, not as often as I used to though, there has been a couple of BIG sharks spotted in the last couple of years.
The fact there is always some seals around is probably the reason.

Cheers Greenroom for some great advice. Your mate on the goat-boat that you used to make seagull noises to is still around
