And MJ.
And a couple of others I didn't know were out there so I missed photographing.
Earlyish run from St. Kilda to Half Moon Bay.
Some photos from Green Point, Jetty Road and above Half Moon Bay.
Helmy heading off - double stacked F16s

Natural and goofy.

From Green Point - this is the others I didn't know were out, nearly missed MJ and the boys coming past.

MJ.

How did you find it today, many good runners? We were a bit further down today and managed a couple of semi long runs and lots of very short ones.

Thanks for the pics Nozza.

It was the first time on a 16'er for me and the first time on a DW'er with a rudder system. Pretty cool. It certainly takes the effort out of trying to get your line right if the wind is a bit offshore or not true towards your destination - which is probably 9 out of every 10 runs.

There were a few good runners to be had and with the steering I found it easier than a non-rudder board to change direction while on a runner to follow the direction of the wave, and hence stay on the runner for longer. But for much of the time I felt that the wind today was a little below optimum for these boards.
Get them out there when it's in the 30 - 40 knot range and I reckon it would be a whole different story and they would fly.
