Hi,
I'm looking to mount a GoPro Surf Board Mount on my 14" Glide. Does anyone have any good tips on where to place these? My head says close to the nose but my gut is saying something different.

The nose is good (facing back), but waves always look smaller. I use a mouth mount sometimes which gives a good perspective.

Thats a serious rig on the back DJ. Awesome video. I might need to schedule some time in Melbourne to get some tips from the master.

Thanks.. If you're just sticking the surf mount on the board I think as far forward on the nose pointed back is the only real option.. Raising it up off the board is better if you can do it.. and make sure you have a safety system in case it comes off.. Like a tether/leash or/and a float.. Water drops on the lens is the biggest problem plus having it pointed back in windy DW conditions get any water spray blown onto the lens.. I found using the paddle to scoop water and flick it at the camera works to prevent the dryed salt water on the lens problem.. Let us know how you go..

Not go pro, but I've been using a suction cup camera mount I bought online for over 2 years now.
It's fallen off once in that time but I have the camera tethered to the board.




I am trying to capture images of any wildlife (hopefully dolphins) I come across, so either have it at the back looking forward like above, or forward looking forward.



It's actually a combination of a suction cup mount and a large ball head to get the camera a bit further up.
Its now rusted almost solid but still working.
I have added tether points using small Stick It loops to a few boards.


The resultant camera angles can be a bit bizzare, but it would work forward looking back.
My teenage daughter has warned me that if I do that the result would be unacceptably close to a selfie.
The wider angle lens on the Go Pro would probably get all of you in the frame from the front looking back.

Something different and a bit out there but I have core drilled a mount just behind the Centre fin on my 12 PSH. Get some good stuff paddling the reefs some days. Just run a safety strap around the leggy.
