Been there....done that
Tiny waves at town beach this morning
Hardly anyone else wanted them....but they were about the only available surf option
Only a couple of other sups out.......and towball on his longboard

"The Knee Boarder" was there.....he has this theory that there is no surf in gisborne at the moment because it has all been stolen by stand up paddle boarders ha ha

nah.....its a tiny camera with a bit of plastic around it. Is supposed to be waterproof without the plastic

The plastic is the "Dive Case" good for down to 30 metres or so......think without the dive case its good for something like 3 metres.
But overkill is good in the camera safety department
Have drowned two Hero basic go pros......plus a silver
I feel much more at ease with the XD Replay Prime X dive case

Drowning 3 go pros is quite the feat. I found that pulling apart the case an buttons, cleaning and putting it back together with silicon grease on all the seals and button pins helps by not just keeping the water out, but by keeping out that little bit of water that can fog the lense too.

if I ever buy another go pro will definitely use a cable tie to make sure the "opening catch" stays closed.....think they tend to open when you would rather they didn't
......and Potatoes tell me what we are talking about here? Sliced potatoes? Grated potatoes? Hot potatoes?
