Wow someone would of spend tens of thousands of dollars developing that too....

So why can't they just use a paddle

If the had a guess I would say the development of a product like this would be around 200 to 300k minimum.

It it really makes you wonder surely some where during the development process somebody would say " hey are we not just wasting hundreds of thousands of dollars developing something that is vastly inferior to the original simple product which didn't really need improving in the first place?

this looks like the result of having a committee develop a new type of stand up paddling
