www.supracer.com/2015-euro-tour-announcement/

Reading this on SUP RACER today. Looks like a pretty cool idea and sounds very professional. Australia needs something like this..
The most interesting part I think is how all races will be up to 14ft boards. Makes sense since they are all flat water racers. And to combat the trouble with travelling with a 14foot they will haul it around the tour for you. Seriously these guys have thought this through so well.

But is Hawaii really the ultimate down winding spot?? I dunno I haven't been I'm sure keen to go but I reckon there might just be some other unreal spots also.
W.A comes to mind.

TT it would be a good way to do a euro holiday though wouldn't it.

If you want to travel and Downwind but don't want to spend a lot there is a good size group going to Cairns to race in June.
Cheap airfares, up Saturday, back Monday.
Great DW conditions. And no big surf.
Use your own board too.
Good race to see if you can before going to Hawaii.
Big Dale Chapman won last year.

Trailer $300
No Crocs, its winter (well they're there)
Yorky's Knob to Port Douglas
25knts all the way

Ask Dale or Wayno about it. Sue's doing it. Matt Nottage was on the OC1 but I reckon he is keen to SUP.
Who's in???

you are the biggest frother for Maliko DW. Can't wait to read about the Hawaii adenture of 2015.
I'm hoping for a trip in 2016.
I have spoken to a few that have done Hawaii and all say unreal worlds best! but a few also say Aus has just as good runs just very different style.

Had my 17'4" Bullett 5 days now, paddled 4 of them, politiced out of it this morning.
From my experience so far, would a 17'4" Bullett be suitable?
Yes, all the time.

i/we've been using 17'4 bullets on the goldie for a while now. you need at least 15 knts here, preferably 20 knts plus.

if its short period they can be hard to get going. then next day looks the same and they go off.

north runs goldie not so good, but tweed north runs - great.

bigger more spaced out down the tweed

this why im asking pete about general conditions up there

Great initiative with the board transport.

You guys on the East Coast are spoilt you should try living in WA, its a great place, I love it.....but....
I would love to do more events on the East Coast like the flatwater SUPFest and the Yorkeys to Port Douglas race even moreso but getting 14'ers and yourself across the country all the time is just too hard/expensive.

Yes I've seen very good Downwind condition in Australia as good as Maliko BUT Maliko is so consistent everyday over summer and warm

You need 25 knots to see the Bullets full potential

if its short period wind swell the SIC f18 is Bulk Fun just made for those conditions, the Bullet is not.

north runs goldie no good for SUP it's just a brutal paddle with or without a rudder, a 10'6'' Clubbie board is the best for have fun in north runs.

Thats why I can't get over to paddle in the KOTC with my Bullet it's just way too expensive. Maui works out to be way cheaper.

Downwinder, what if I offered you my 17'4 Bullet then all you would need to do is get yourself here.

DW you could sell sand to the Arabs. You are so right. Consistant and warm that has me sold. Very true we are lucky to get 2/3 days in a row in QLD of pumping perfect bumps. Maui sounds like it's a month or more worth and with the best set up for transport etc.

G'day surf4fun if you're keen to lend me your 17'4 Bullet I'd guarantee you 100% I'll be coming over for the next KOTC race
I'll be looking forward to Downwinding this famous WA run with you and Goochi and the rest of the WA gang. The video's look insane.

One question though before I commit, is the 17'4 Bullet hollow or 100% styro foam

and what are you going to paddle if I take your Bullet

In return surf4fun if you ever come over to Qld for a Downwind paddle I'd lend you my custom f16, or my custom f18, or my custom Bullet thats 17'6 I won Molokai on this board in the over 40's way back in 2010 it's a magic board.

Phil it is the off the shelf 2015 17'4 Bullet, so styro. If this is not to your liking I can also organise a hollow, Maui built F16 that is 4 years old.

Never mind what I am going to ride I will dig up something from somewhere, but would love to see more crew coming over to experience what we have to offer.

Thanks surf4fun, OK I'm in I'm 100% coming. I'm happy to pay for the KOTC entry fee now to prove I'll be there.

Nice one DW.
KOTC could be bigger in 2015 than the euro tour ;)
I'm looking at the option of making it over also. Couple the sunny coast boys that went in 2014 rated it as the best race in Aus.
