That's interesting to see that your back foot was not on the kick pad in most of those turns as everybody says it should be. and the turn looked good to me

As a bloke who struggles to get the back foot enough, this clip gives me hope!

It should be for tight top turns (rollers, vertical surfing). And there are none in the vid...
You can see more of Casso constant rear footwork in his "Boomeranging" video he posted before.

I hope you don't mind me dissecting your turns to answer some questions raised.
You made some turns that are good examples of the many turn options

Brian and Souwester
Not all turns are done from the tail.
Different turns have different moving parts

Casso is surfing the Style, with style, on these waves

1st picture he is using a moderate "soul arch" to make a long, drawn out carve, because he is in no hurry.
By "arcing" he keeps his body mass over the board for control, and shifts only the weight necessary, over the rail to produce a low speed turn... and add a lot of "flair" to the turn.

2nd picture he is laying down a turn with more drive, designed to project down the line, with speed.

Moving to the tail would produce more of a pivot, for snapping a tighter turn, which he wasn't using in this video.

Too true STC & Colas, cheers for the breakdown - love that style of surfing - just looks natural and most of all really fun!
