Good day!
Im the owner of of a starboard nut model and naish x32 model...happy with them..they have their use here and then..but both boards were cancelled by their brand...bad design ? Bad sales? Niche market?
What to think whem you own a board that no longer exist? Bad board? Collector board?
Just interested to know your opinion..

Cheers

Naish just superseded the x32. They have a much smaller surf range overall now. Pretty sure it's a financial thing.

I have a Starboard Nut and I think it is terrific. Works on small and medium sized waves and within the scope of my modest surfing ability. Starboard replaced it with something more progressive because that is their nature to want to change things. I haven't tried the replacement model but I understand it is quite a bit more challenging and I don't think it's for me.

Any board that you like, is a good board and worth keeping.
Look at the old longboard dudes.... same board for 40 years, now it's a "classic"

The Nut was phased out because it didn't sell that well....the look of it put folk off.

Compared to other boards it simply doesn't have nice clean lines/template but doesn't mean it doesn't work. My mate loves his. As for me, I'm buying one of Starby's older designs...the Element....love that shape.....been around for a while...just had tweaks to hull and reduced volume.

I loved the Starboard "nut' design boards.
Coming from a shortboard surfing background I found I could relate to the 'nut' design better than the other shapes.
9' nut was my favourite, to find a good nick carbon model of this size would be a treat.
Not sure if many made it to Australia.
Good designs with good construction will become collectors items for sure.
The cheaper made boards will be landfill.
