Hey guys,

I have a meeting Tuesday midday in near Caloundra and will be staying in town that evening. I'm thinking of hiring a sup for a surf, anyone else going to be about at that time. Some advice as to which beach there is best would be much appreciated, Kings, Moffat etc...
I'll probably make the water by about 2-3, be great to have some company.

Welcome to paradise Mr Stump. Well Caloundra anyway, paradise is a bit further north.

If you want waves and have a car near Caloundra try, Kings n a NE wind, Moffat for some size, Dickeys and Ann St.
North is the Kawana stretch where there is plenty of choice.

For still water near Caloundra there is the Passage at Golden Beach or Currimundi Lake.

Board hire at CurrimunDI Lake and at Scspc at Caloundra.

Have fun.

Thx,

Am looking for wave definitely, anything usable, the glassier and longer the better ;-)

Have scoped out the Caloundra Sup guys, will call them later.

Thx again...

If you can surfsup and know surf etiquette, definitely try Moffat or Happy Valley, just south of Kings. Both have longish waves depending on the tide and swell [and direction of swell] . Both have plenty of area to find your own space. Mid week hardly anyone is out esp after 9.00 am. Water clarity is fantastic too and no noahs.
I wouldn't recommend Ann St as it's a defined take off that bodyboards and shortboards frequent..leave it to them..you'll only make yourself unpopular.
Dickies on the rocks at Neill St is awesome, but a surfers spot, but if you know what you're doing, you should be fine. Again mid week not to many surfers out if the swell is not pumping. Enjoy paradise my friend. You'll never want to leave.

Thanks guys,

I'll head into the local hire store and get the tips of the day from them too.
Yeh, I know how not to upset the proners ;-)

Thanks again...

Moffats on the lower tide (my preference) and Happy Valley (Bulcock beach) on incoming 3/4 to high tide. Looks like it's offshore that day so any of the peaks north from Moffats should be working.

There has been a really good bank in front of Currimundi Lake for a while now....check it out if you have time.
