i have been using a Hatchet FCS fin for DWers as I felt it gave me better stability in the washing machine that is the ocean while I am trying to learn the best way to actually do a DW run.

This year I have improved my balance and having done a few lower wind runs in quite choppy seas I tried a different fin today that previously had made me feel tippy. Not today! What I did like was the fact I could change direction more easily to try to catch bumps that came from more than one direction, so I think this one might be my go to fin from now on.

What is your go to fin on a DW run????

getting it wired Dave . .i don't DW much ..but do you change sizes much ..

eg ..18-20 knots bigger more area

25-30 knots smaller fins ..less fin needed .I 'm a novice .but sail a lot .

Thanks for the options Tardy, maybe I should pack a fin in my back pack and change half way and see which works better?

Hey Tardy
managed a couple of waves last weekend but with the hatchet I get bucked off on the wave, too hard to turn, but getting use to surfing standing up and that also helps in choppy seas.

A lot depends on the board shape imo. You just to try a few and find the best for you.
Its always a trade off -stability vs mobility
