Has anyone paddled from the northers rivers town of Bellingen to the sea? How long does it take. Looks doable and I'm here and keen

Just checked on routebuilder.org and shows it would be around a 23 k paddle.

Mate its tidal up to Bello and there are a few rough bits between Bello and Raleigh - specially now as we are going to cop a huge low with definite flooding and wild weather. There is a weather warning for this area.

Start at Raleigh at the bridge on northbank road and paddle to Mylestrom - about 6k - really nice paddle normally - great scones and coffee at the restrnt

BE CAREFUL OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS - Bello bridge goes under water - think about it!

Steve, thanks for the excellent info. The river looks ok now. I had planned a Bello to Fernmount paddle tomorrow morning as a test. So I normally surf SUP so not really clear on the tidal bit. I had assumed the water ran from the mountains to the sea? Do I also need to ensure it is an ebb tide?

Yes - start at Raleigh a half hour before low (coffs tides) and this will aid in down river - scones and coffee till the flotsam heads back upstream - you can see this from the café seats and then a pleasant paddle back to the bridge (normally)
