Nice dj but you' ve got a lot vid bombers these days.
2 points. Pts board looks good but for the funny bit under the nose which he looks like he has to nurse.
he'll deny it of course
To sb-why. Why.why. its one the nicest nose shapes ive ever seen except of the funny reverse bit.
Point.l2 Who ever owns that f16 should keep it.
Looks ready made for the bay
Cheers guys
DJ that is one of the best vids you have made
Yet.
To me that is what down winding is all about swapping bump for bump with a bunch of mates and having a laugh.
Awesome angles captured of the lads catching bumps too..

Maui built, hollow moulded.
Who would ever sell it?

Not me!!!!!!
Great vid DJ, you must end up with miles of footage having 3 cameras...
I must say first time on the SIC 17'4 and steering is a revelation, can cover so much new territory now, so much so it's very easy to become a "runner" hog.... Fun
Love how the F16 @ about 3:00 runs up the back of the wave with the slightest kiss...
On the other hand I lIke how your V3 Glide and the Bullet V2's slip along effortlessly... The new Allstar still brings back memories of my Coast Runner - although the boofing seems much more manageable, and from the way it glides I'm guessing that large concave is money...
Thanks for sharing DJ

I had just finished thinking that I would be sailboarding those waves when the sailboard came through - there was enough wind..

Careful you don't confuse my poor technique for design flaws in the board. I'm trying to iron out some bad habits brought on by down winding on an Ace for so many years.
As for the interesting hull bump, I'm not sure what the story is with that, but I suspect it might have some basis in feeding the centre concave, or more to the point, starving the concave of water contact so an air pocket is created. Who knows.
I will say one thing just to prove every comment I make is not all fawning pro-Starboard... the fin box on this board is really small. I couldn't fit my favourite Slater Trout FCS fin, which is hardly a monster at the base. Don't know why he did this but again, probably has something to do with preserving the concave air pocket.
Overall though, still loving this board. It gets on the plane nicely, though for the 15-23 knot bay DW that we encountered on this day, a 14' Ace would have been faster. Only problem is, if I had one of those, I would have had to stop and wait for all those SIC boards.
