Hi everybody,
I'm a long time reader of the windsurf, kite, and sup forums here and have finally broken the ice a bit on the kite side... was wanting to jump on and say hello, and also wanting to share some of my cheesy vids I've thrown together over the years. A lot are pretty old, but I thought somebody might get a kick out of them.

This one is from 2012 and shot with the original HD gopro on a really beautiful morning here. Enjoy!

North shore O'ahu,
Glad somebody thought it looked big...it was! I was pretty scared actually. This spot is within sight of one of the most popular flat water paddling spots on the island...

Thanks guys,
This spot is near Hale'iwa Nashhy, I would say exactly where but some people tend to get all bent out of shape about that kind of stuff!

Hey Jkimbler..I'm thinking of going to Hawaii for a sup holiday with my partner in the near future. I'm advanced but my partner she is beginner so I'd like to go some where with a range of breaks ...that would suit us both and are sup friendly..Where would you suggest ? Any ideas be most appreciated..and what time of year be best to go..

It looks like "Old mans" Or maybe "Right Overs" ? I had a house there just inside the reef for a few weeks last year..
Oops nope just saw the rocks

JK, why'd you keep us waiting so long for that enjoyable ride? I've given up on the paddle mount as I get hardly any usable footage.
You seem to have it nailed.

And what a nice long wave! I was lucky enough to have lived on the north shore for a few years and think I know the spot.
A bit of a trick to catch it with good winds and a little spooky out on those reefs. An ideal area for the sup.

Thanks SurfinJ,

The paddle mount is kind of weird, it always makes the waves look tiny! I think the still pictures from the paddle mount come out pretty good though. Definitely right about the spookiness. Really, really don't want to catch that freak big set and get pushed into the rocks. It is always so humbling out there.

Supmaori,

Gotta hit the north shore during our winter, although fall and spring are usually pretty good too. Most places I sup surf I am usually alone or maybe a few guys, but I usually am paddling out when it's still dark. South shore gets surf in the summer and there are also a lot of options there, I usually surf from break to break and try to find my own little in-between spot if I can. If you come in winter it all depends on what kind of wind we have at the time, certain winds will open up other areas of the island. Feel free to get in touch when you guys nail down a date, I can show you guys around, this place is kind of like a big ocean playground and I'm sure we'll find somewhere where you both will have fun.

Fantastic vid mate. Actually quite original. Heaps of Gopro vids look the same these days. Yours is nicely different.

Not to steal Supmaori's thunder but I'll be there next month. Would live to go for a wave with you if you're keen?

Hey Zeusman, probably gonna have to be south shore, north shore is about to go to sleep! Hit me up when you're about to arrive, I'll check out the forecast... might be some small time waikiki stuff though! North shore should be really good for flat water stuff and really awesome for snorkeling/freediving. Don't get me wrong though, town side can still be really fun. give me a holler when you are about to arrive and I'll check out the conditions, and I'll try my best to recommend some good areas. Catch ya on the water.

Just to clear something up just in case: The spot in the vid is not where JeanG suggested...it's actually a little known spot on lake Michigan. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
