Any opinions on a 12 ft naish glide, not sure of year but white with wood nose?
Would it suit 6'5 100kg paddler?
Pros/con's
Cheers
Suit you for what activity? I love my Naish Glide 12. It is a pocket downwind board that also surfs reasonably well in small conditions, and the carbon one has a windsurf fitting - there's a video somewhere of DJ windsurfing it back in the day. It's a board that in many ways was created before SUP developed all the more specialised disciplines. So it's a fun all-round ocean board that does surprisingly well downwind in short period chop if you are looking for stability: It has a lot of rocker at the front. This rocker however makes it fairly slow in flat water, especially since it is wide. For a guy your size I wouldn't have thought it was the most obvious choice. It is quite low volume by today's standards. But it depends what you intend to do with it I guess. These days I'd see it's niche as a starter downwind board for a fairly light man or woman, or general ocean "muck about" board for someone who also likes to windSUP. The construction of the "carbon" one is a great compromise between weight and durability - it's tougher than most carbon DW boards currently on sale, but is lighter than most equivalent non-carbon ones. Hope this helps. I'm sure DJ will chip in soon...

I agree.. ![]()
I loved mine but it's an old design/shape now.. It has the old [non ledge] handle.. The grip can be a little slippery.. and the rails are a bit catchy..
It would be a great all-round board for a good price.. but I'd recommend paying the extra to get a more recent shape..
IMO.. At your height and weight you'd be much better off on the newer shape 12' Glide.
Thanks for the advice, sold a nalu 11'4 a while ago, loved the paddling but couldn't get into the surfing, would rather surf my surfboard (anyone looking for a new board seriously check out grant millers SubX, does everything he claims it does and I have no connection to grant in any way!). Am spending half my time at moment in Canberra, so am interested in doing some lake paddling and getting into some DW when I get a chance. So looking for a 2nd board to cover those two that would suit my weight and height. Take your advice on the 12 glide so any ideas appreciated. Cheers
