Hey Danbi,
I don't know much about that first board, but can speak very highly in favour of the Naish Nalu 10'6.5. I love it in the surf (as a mal-style cruiser). It flies through sections and is reasonably manouverable for a board of that length. I've regularly paddled it a couple of kilometres on flatwater and around some nice bays near here. It's a great board and the closest thing to a great allrounder that I have come across. Just my opinion.
Good luck!
Dave

I have only had it out in about 10 knots of wind and it was pretty stable. Still takes a bit of getting used to. I think that if you put the time in, it would be manageable in windier conditions. I started another thread on this site, asking about best boards for choppy seas. You could do a search on "choppy" or "hokua" and read the comments... A few guys said go wider. The nalu is 30 inches wide. I think if you go much wider for the choppy days, what you gain in stability, you may lose in performance when it is glassy. I surfed waist-high glassy waves today and compared to my old hokua and my 8ft mctavish mal, the nalu flew. But if you ask 10 people, you will get 10 different answers... Good luck!

The 2011 is a different, more narrow shape, 28 inches wide. The 2012 model is reported to be more stable. I have the old model, no problems with nose diving.

Hey Danbi
This is the Nalu model I was talking about:
http://www.naishsurfing.com/2013/nalu-10-6-5-gs/
I couldn't surf one of those narrower ones in choppy seas.
This is the thread I started which asks about best boards for choppy surf.
www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/Stand-Up-Paddle/SUP/Whats-your-go-to-board-for-average-choppy-surf/
I ended up trading my Hokua in on the new Nalu. It suits me better and it is more stable. It's far better for paddling - more glide, less yaw -- but it's definitely more of a mal-style surfing experience.
Nose-diving isn't an issue (any more than with most boards) and yes, if you find the sweet spot you should be right.
I'd try as many boards as you can... and keep in mind that it takes a while to get the hang of it, especially when the conditions are tricky. You have to pay your dues - but that can still be fun.
Cheers, Dave
