came down from a 9.6 156 lts to the stun gun and really think its better in all conditions even when its choppy. when i went to buy it was unsure about going so small but jason from westoz in rockingham said try it as he thought that was the right size with the condition if i wasnt happy bring it back,didnt need to as he was right.imho boards have gotten alot better so you dont need as much voluume underneath you to catch waves and the advantage of a smaller board once your on the wave is 10 fold.the stun gun is so maneuverable its really improved my confidence on the wave and in the line up as i know itll go where i point it (well most of the time but thats not the boards fault:) ) .so to summarise no negatives for me changing to the jimmy really like this board.btw i weigh 70 kg.tahnks to jason for the friendly and knowlegeble service as usual.

Has anyone tried the 8'5" Starboard Pro Carbon against the 8'7" Stungun, I tend to find the JL boards slow off the mark, but I am considering one of these.
Funny you should ask that cause when I first got the jimmy I swaped with a friend who had the pro starboard.its lighter but I didn't catch more waves. This was early days so might be different now.i find catching waves is more about anticipation .being in the right spot means a lot more than what board you've got under you.imho the difference was negligible. Hope that helps.
Cheers for the reply, it's not catching a wave, but I have found the JL"s slow to pump along a wave and not overly lively, especially in comparison to a couple of carbon boards I have used.
