I still haven't purchased my SUPB - going to the Sunshine Coast for the next 3 days, to buy one, originally, thought
of Naish Mana. When I telephoned some of the surf shops on the sunny coast, one mentioned Maunalua boards, any ideas or thoughts of these SUPB's.
Any advice most helpful.
Never heard of Maunalua boards. I would imagine they are a chinese made board.
What's wrong with your original choice of the Mana?
IF you can afford the naish buy that...... The first board I bought was one of them Maunalua things. I still have it, won't die. Its an old shape and came outta the factory in china but eventually bought a naish and was kicken myself for not getting one earlier. Get the mana...
If you're looking for a paddle a few times a month just about anything will do. I did a lot of demos before I bought my first SUP. Love Naish and just about every surf shop will carry the brand. Consistent quality but I got confused with so many options. Demo demo demo is my best advice and visit multiple shops, ask to speak with the SUP expert and they will help guide you to a few good ones. Also don't be afraid of a board made in China. I experienced a lot of brand bashing just because it wasn't the "popular American Brand" the shop carried made is "the popular factory". Ask about how it's made and what materials are used. Best of luck with your quest. I'm currently looking for my second board.

Absolutely spot on.
You can take the kitchen door off its hinges and tape up a straw broom as a paddle for exercise![]()

. The major thing for me was weight. If your worried about resale value.......... buy a Ferrari. Boards are meant to be used if they're not then they are not worth the money.
There are PLENTY of Naish's second hand because of their enormous resale value. I personally would'nt pay that sort of money for someones cast offs.![]()
. BUT they are clearly an excellent brand and in general made superbly.
People shouldn't really give advice beyond. DEMO, DEMO, DEMO!!!!!!!!!![]()
as it always sounds like a pimp, even if it's probably not![]()

. Manalua-sounds like a nice name but that doesn't make them a good or bad board. As with everything out of China, if the person liked their job it will be well made, if they were new or hated the job........????
Good luck and have heaps of fun!!!!!!
