I dont get out when there is onshore wind, so problem solved :-)
But sometimes, when I get a new board and I am eager to try it, I have been out in crappy conditions anyways (howling onshores, etc...), and...
actually all boards work!
I mean, if you are a competent SUPer (basically who do not paddle with his/her feet close to the rails), if you focus on your balance you can actually manage junk conditions, you just have to have a positive attitude. The difference being that I will be exhausted after 30mn on my hardest board (Gong Alley 7'8" 27"3/4 105l) but I can manage 2 hours on my stablest (Gong Karmen 8'4" x 30" x 120l)
So it depends on my mood. Getting out for an intense amped up 30mn session can be more fun than overstaying for 2 hours and getting bored by the end.
Hey Colas
interesting re where feet are positioned from rails when paddling, i've never thought about this. What's the logic?
Cheers
