Oops #1: Kevin Seid made a board for Sterling that was a bit too close in size to his bigger board, so it wasn't going to get surfed much.

Oops #2: I couldn't resist and picked it up cheap, still hiding it from my girlfriend...

Oops #3: Now I can't use the "don't really have a big wave board" excuse anymore, which I was milking all winter... **, now I have to
go out in the real stuff. Uh-oh. Had a smaller "big day" on it two days ago, she goes great. Lots of meat in the front,
paddles like a champ, super easy to get into waves. Nice pulled in tail, running quads and it feels perfect. Hopefully I'll get
some pics or video of it in action soon. ( 9' 9" x 27.75" x 4.2") EPS core, hand shaped and glassed at the Waialua sugar mill.

Yikes, pics are huge. Hard to get a good look at the board. Anybody know how to size the pics down a little?

Nice looking board.....narrow pintail with rails tapering off quite fine. Maybe you could have gone with smaller fins? All will be revealed quite soon I suppose

Thanks Gizzie,
These are the first set of fins I threw in, I ran a similar set in my old gun (10' 6") and it seemed to go well. Was wondering about that as well though, what size fins do you think I should try? I'm 153 ilbs., this board is mainly going to be used on a slopey to occasionally semi-hollow wave about 10-15 ft. faces (bigger if I grow a set). Thanks!

"If you grow a set"!?! 10-15 ft sounds pretty bl00dy big to me!

Nice gun. That's about my wave size limit, and my set is well in use by then, sometimes shrinking.

Had it out today in 6-8 ft Hawaiian, super glassy and beautiful. I ran the stretch quad fronts this time which are smaller than the Jamie Mitchel's, it was much better. A lot more sensitivity in the tail. That was about my limit too, but I actually starting feeling really confident about half way through the morning. Can't wait to give it a go a little bit bigger, baby steps for me! I also have a new gopro coming tomorrow, so stand by for really crappy videos...

you are really lightweight so maybe you need a lot of fin .....is all a mystery really. About the only fins I can afford to buy are the shapers S9.....my last quad had those as the fronts and the Gerry Lopez rear set in the back. Running my PSH 12'6 with the S9 as thrusters set of three.......looks under finned and sometimes in bigger sucky stuff you might slide sideways down the face....but all good really
