Hi, I ride my 10'6" Larid Pearson Arrow as a single fin. It carrys a 10" wide base McTavish Redline fin. Awesome fin and suits the board beautifully. The board comes standard with quads and thruster set ups but the Laird is very longboard in shape. Beautifully crafted board. Coming from a traditional mal riding background and style the single fin has all subtitles of nice bottom turns and sets the board up for walking.
I've got a 10' suplove that I use a 10" wingnut fin in, rides like a big mal, good fun in small surf for cross stepping and nose riding.
I have a new 12 foot SUP with a very thinned out tail and a decent edge to the tail too. It comes with side fins and 8ft centre fin and I reckon they'd all be ideal with decent sized waves. This will be a small wave/cruising SUP for the moment so sticking with a bigger single fin.
I ride my 9' fusion as a single fin occasionally for a change. 9" fin pushed right forward. Good fun.
I go single fin on any board that has an US Box when the waves are gutless. I love the speed and fluidity of the single fin on slow waves.
I also had a blast with Cheyne Horan's winged keel on my 6'6" :-)
