Rake looks like 45 deg which means it could double as a weed fin? What is the theory behind so much rake on a downwind fin? I'm currently using a more straight up BP fin and finding it very nice. It doesn't give me much stability but it feels very slippery.
Hi Peter
Yes the 45 degrees is designed to shed weeds and trash. Bart de Zwart used this fin in the 2013 11 Cities race. This is a bigger fin than the R8 which you have, hence it really helps with stability and tracking. The extra power which it delivers will help you get gliding earlier and stay on the glide for longer.
This is proving to be a very fast fin and reviews from customers and team riders are very positive.
It is all about balance and feel, depending on your paddling, your board, your conditions different fins will suit you better.
Hope that helps.
