Just wanted to ask about leashes , would you just use a standard longboard leash on a board 8'8 sup

and what are these rail saver extensions, are they more a flat water thing?

I first used a longboard leash but found it got tangled up a fair bit. I recently got a surf sup specific balin leash, it got around 3/4 metre of straight cord then it's a coil, it's much thicker than a standard longboard leash and it doesn't seem to get in the way as much IMO;)

I have an 8'4" board and use a standard 7' balin and an 8' creatures teahoupu? leggies. You can use whatever you want and whatever you feel secure about, my preference is the 7' up to about shoulder height wave then 8' leg rope kicks in.
