Hi All has anyone around the 85kg mark tried a 8'6" x 30" wide ripper if so whats tour opinion! I have not tried one but have been on a 9'2" wide ripper so far I like it but have only been in 3' waves.
Hi Colin ,
I have the 8'6 Wide ripper and im around that weight now
!
Board set up as a quad feels faster , turns tight and very stable no probs with weight at all. Found my back foot needs to be all the way back to feel right but fast down the line and i have only surfed it so far in up to 3' and stoked.
Bit more effort to paddle but that is forgotten once your on the wave !
Your welcome to have a go on my board if your in Torquay any time.
regards,
Rich
Hi ColD
I am 6" and about 82kgs I have had the chance to ride the 8'6 wide ripper a bit 1 to 4 foot, smooth and glassy to messy and onshore.
Its super stable for an 8'6 and as long as you have had a little bit of paddling experence you should have no troubles. It paddles on to a wave very easy for an 8'6 then excellerates very quickly, turns very nice and tight in the pocket ( you do need to be right at the back as Rich said in his reply) the 30" of width also help carry the board across the flat part of the wave well.
If you can get hold of one I am shore you will not be disapointed (they normally sell out of this board very quickly)
The PSH quads go very nicely on this board!!
There are guys up to 95+kg riding this board
Hope this helps Rod
