Had chance to demo all 3 of these boards over the last week , here is a quick review. (I'm 6ft 90kg) All latest model boards.
8’6” x 30” x 4 ¼” Ripper Wide
Great float for it's size and very stable , still has good glide for picking up waves. This board feels nice under your feet and very easy to surf , rode it as a quad and loved it. It's nose is nicely pulled in but slightly fuller than the 8-9 Ripper , still has the classic PSH pulled in thin tail which is where the board gets it's pedigree. This board would suit riders of ability: intermediate > advanced. (guys my size)(tested as Quad)
8’9” x 28 ¼” x 4 1/16” Ripper
This board just looks unreal with the great pulled in nose, tail and narrower width but with that comes floatation issues for guys over 85kg , I still rode it no problems but it wasn't long before the legs were burning .My mate Rosco 85kg & 6-1 just ripped it to pieces on this board best I've seen him surf in over 2 years of Sup's , it was just that touch thin for me paddling but it surfs as good as it gets. This board would suit riders of ability: advanced .(guys my size) (tested as Quad)
8’11” x 28 ½” x 4” Ripper
Lay this board on the ground and look at it , the nose and tail is pulled in even more than the 8-9 Ripper and the whole outline of the board just looks insane. Even though it's super pulled on the nose and tail , those extra few inches is all I needed ,add to that a concave deck and I was very comfortable on this board , even punching through the waves paddling back out.The sleek outline shape lets this board draw incredible lines giving it heaps of drive & speed , no slides in the cutbacks it brings you all the way around .When you get caught in the foam ball just drive off the back foot and around you go.There was nothing I didn't like about this board in fact I liked so much I rang Andrew Allen & ordered one.
This board would suit riders of ability: intermediate > advanced .(guys my size) (tested as Quad & 2+1)
The PSH's are a different board and you need more than ONE demo on them to find the sweet spot for balance. A tip for guys dropping down if you feel the board is borderline for size ride it as a 2+1 with a larger centre fin to help with initial balance. With my ratings intermediate & advanced , the smaller you are the easier the boards will be to paddle , the above ratings are for larger units like myself.
I'll have these boards for another couple of weeks so if you want a demo drop me PM if you are on the Gold Coast.

What sort of waves do you think the 8'11" suits best?
Did you get it for the smaller days (beachies) or for when the surf is really good?
Cheers
I've been surfing the 8-11 in 2-4 foot beaches but I would have no problems taking it out in the big stuff on the bombie.
