Just received my new Sunova Creek 7'7 x 26 x 3 3/4 79 litre.
I have been riding an Acid 7'10 and was looking for something a bit different. Also I wanted to go a bit shorter without dropping too much volume.
When I contacted the guys at Sunova I mentioned id like something crossed between a Acid and a Speeed and the timing was perfect as they had just developed the Creek.
Although as Rick (Sup the creek) explains in his post it is a cross between a few of their models.(Acid not being one of them)
The thing I noticed the most on first viewing it was the nose is quite wide compared to my acid which I did realize would be the case.
I managed to take it out for its first run tonight after work which meant I only had about 40 mins, but I was keen!
The surf wasn't great, about 1-2 ft and very light onshore.
Initial paddling wasn't any different to the acid but was slightly more stable and paddling into waves was about the same.
On the waves it seemed a bit faster down the line, but will be interesting to see if its as good in bigger waves.
The main thing I noticed is that it much looser but in a good way. It was controlled looseness, but again I will have to see how that translates to in bigger surf.
There was one thing I noticed but never even thought of was when you fall off and retrieve your board by grabbing the tail, the channels are like hand grips and make it a little easier.
So overall from my short surf I am very happy.
I will get back after a few surfs with an update and maybe a video.
Cheers, Traff
