Thanks DJ, can,t wait to get out there. I'm only a. Lightweight 69g. Thought the Naish Nula would be a good starter board for me. I hope it's not to big for me. I live in Perth but I'm here in Melbourne ATM staying with my daughter in St Kilda and checked out the boards at ZU watersports, the guys did me a good package deal on the board. Cool vid btw.
Glad you're not in the clydesdale class..
At only about 69 kg it should be a perfect first board and alrounder for you.

I sold my Spirit Ski to fund my first board - a Nalu 10 6 GT. I still have it and I still love it.
In fact I've just bought another one from RPS, as my wife has taken it up.
Advice - make room in the garage - like everyone else, I now have 4 boards...you will, too.

Me too. Love this board.
First time SUP, I'm 5'8, 69kg. Thought I'd be using it mainly on small days with crap waves, but then took it out for 'a look' at the big boys hitting up head-high surf on one of the reefs. Can't believe how well it handled, so no more concerns about outgrowing it too quick.
That said, after a couple of surf sessions I'm already thinking about downsizing to something about 2 foot smaller for my next one.
For everyone else wondering if it's a good first time board, most definitely yes, if you can afford the steep starting price. Type of board to keep and still have fun on flat water and small surf, as well as on some decent sized fatties.
Yes, I love mine too. But I do NOT like the way that the black graphics on the rails has chipped off almost immediately. I haven't seen anything so bad since the first boards at the beginning of SUP. It's not chipping per se, the white paint underneath is not touched. It just the black graphics, which seem like maybe a transfer? It's almost maybe as if they forgot to put a protective lacquer or something over the top because a whole strip has just rubbed away on one side. I've only had the board about 4 weeks and I'm not hard on my boards, and I've never had a problem so bad before with any board (and I've had lots). Has anyone else had this problem or might it perhaps be something wrong with my particular board?
I'll add my vote to this as one of the best all round boards I've ever owned. Had mine in head high surf and it performed well. The GT comes with a good centre fin for surfing but play around with the sides to get the feel you like. No problems with paint chipping on my board Area10.
I call my 10-6 the dogs body
does a little bit of everything pretty well.Paddles well for down the coast runs,surfs pretty well up to 6' foot, and not overly big.

DavidJohn - stability wise....what would you compare the Nalu 10 6 to? Always been interested in the Nalu but not a fan of 30 inch wide SUPs....31 would be better.
Helmy, same as you, I sold my beaut double susp mountain bike to fund my Naish Nula. I can see myself going down the same road as you and buying another board, already checking out race models. It is vey addictive!!
I also give the 10 6 the thumbs up. I love the board, can use it in almost any conditionss. Great one board does all option. Ps I'm also a featherweight at 65 to 70 kg. and don't find it too big in surf.
