Anyone have much input on the difference between these boards in the surf?
They seem quite similar but the extra 20 liters might come in handy for flat water.
I've owned both and still own the new 10'6" 1/2.
IMO it's by far the better of the two boards.
How heavy are you?

Hi slappysan.
I have a 10 6.5, and I am 75-76kg (hey I'm 74kg after a couple of paddle sessions! whoopee!!!)
I have 10yr & 12 yr old daughters, probably 30 & 40 kg or so, and I can paddle the 10 6.5 with either of them on board.
We can't do it with both of them on board though, but we had a laugh trying!
Where abouts in Canada are you?
My first sup was a Nalu 11'4 and now have the 10'6.5,it's it's a better balanced board by far, better in the surf and flat water and has better stability especialy in the surf![]()
Haven't ridden the 10'6 but the 11'4 is a pleasure to behold in the wood deck version.....classic looks & classic longboard performance
The 11'4 is very pleasant to paddle on flatwater due to its length & narrow tail section.....they used to describe it as "tippy" in reviews.
I suspect the 10'6 is leaning more towards starboard whopper territory
So what characteristic makes a board 'tippy' ? is it V in the centre? How do the 11'4 and the 10'6.5 differ in terms of V, rocker, etc.?
Is the 11'4 faster? slower?
They are very similar in stability with the 11'4" being the slightly more stable out of the two because it is longer.. Bottom shape does have an effect on stability but width effects it the most.. IMO

The 10'6.5 definately quicker and has a pronounced vee which helps it trim nicely
to give it a longboard feel and stability for nose riding Naish nailed it with this board
The 11'4 has narrow tail section which gives it the "tippy" comments....rock solid stability if you are used to smaller sups though
