The already versatile Jimmy Lewis Sidewinder is coming soon in an even better version.... Faster, Lighter, Stiffer & Stronger the NEW Sidewinder has a single concave running from under the feet out through the tail to generate more speed but keep the same stability not found in a lot of other boards of the same width... The deck is now slightly recessed making for a stiffer board which makes it punch out through the waves & chop without losing any speed yet still sniffs out the smallest of bumps like the original Sidewinder.... I rode the 25' wide prototype in last weeks 12 Towers race in Qld in very tough conditions with no wind and a slight head-on swell & the Sidewinder handled the conditions perfectly.... When everyone was trying to decide whether to use their flatwater board or their ocean board the Sidewinder makes it easy because it's the one board that goes well in all conditions... So for paddlers who don't have the $$$ for both a flatwater & ocean specific board the Sidewinder is the perfect one "race board" quiver...
Available in 23", 25" & 27" widths...

Looks a lot like the SIC RS. Woudl be good to know how both boards compare.

The SIC RS is much wider in the tail with a very shallow concave through the bottom.... The nose is lower profile & the fin looks set a long way forward...

Very nice. I did a google search earlier in the month for the 2018 Sidewinder, so this is helpful. It would be interesting to hear about the ride differences with the recessed deck and concave compared to last years board and to others like the SIC RS as Luc suggested.

How much recess is in the deck?
Will the deep channel reduce the drag, making it faster.

The recess in the deck is about an inch & the concave through the bottom certainly makes it feel nice & slippery

Any more pics and/or tech specs you can provide?? What's happened with the volumes relative to the V1 Sidewinders?

Yes I would definitely be looking forward how it compares performance wise with the SIC RS. So far the reports on the SIC are so good (fast on flat, great of side chop, decent downwind) that i am considering one sometime down the line, but it would be great to have an alternative and volume might serve me better.

The volume for the NEW Sidewinders are as follows-
14 x 23" 270L
14 x 25" 280L
14 x 27" 300L

Thanks kindly.. Gotta like the higher volumes of even the narrow models.. I'm liking the thought of a 23" board that has enough volume to float my fat ass and not turn the board into a SUP-marine. Though the 25" might be a wee bit more relaxing to paddle..

Oh, and enquiring minds need to know, what colour ways are the respective boards? (12' / 14')???
I'm loving the look of them!
