Cool vid of Brian Szymanski talking in detail about the new 12'6 Lahui Kai Race.



This is the board that put everyone of their team (all Aussies) in the top ten at the BOP at Salt Creek last month and Lincoln Dews in 2nd place in the Technical/BOP race at the Aussie Nationals recently.




The 14' x 27.75" and the 12'6 x 27.75" are slightly wider than the Team Race ( at 26") offering a more stable and forgiving platform that anyone can feel comfortable on. All boards are triple carbon wrap.
These boards land in Australia next week.

Got the chance to paddle the 14 footer at Merimbula, albeit into the howling NE on Saturday arvo. Really impressed with the tracking and secondary stability. Step/pivot turns easily and looks the goods

Thanks Caveman, yeah lots of good feedback after Merimbula to these boards as good all-round ocean racing boards. Super stable with all Brian's little tricks under the bonnet.

Just guessing from pics and vids... The bottom rocker looks like the 2014 Allstar, and the deck more like the 2015 Allstar. Let's paint one baby blue with some orange Starboard graphics... Does anyone know if the new 2015 Allstars have Brian's signature on the bottom?

Just wondering if anyone else would like to chime in on their real life experience(s) with the 14".... I am interested in durability of the triple carbon wrap and am sidelining this purchase next to a Jav. 14" - 28. Unable to easily demo at this stage.

My usage is 100% Port Hacking River Sydney south...sometimes glassy, sometimes full of small to large boat chop, sometimes howling S, NE, or whatever so little down (and up) winders, and rarely Bundeena / mainbar bay surf...(for those in the know).

I have the 14 as part of a demo fleet. My feedback so far would be this. I have found the triple carbon wrap to be very durable. I have had people knock it around and it has held up really well. If I were to recommend this board to someone it would not be to the athletes who are at the pointy end of the stick. It is more suited to someone who is after a reliable board that is a true allrounder. I have paddled this board at our local SUP 5.0 (flatwater) and kept up with the 25 inch boards until my own fitness let me down. The nice thick rails and big square tail give it ample stability enabling the rider to walk up and down the board easily. When in the ocean the nose will pierce the runner in front of you however there is sufficient nose rocker that will pop the nose back out.

I would describe the board as a really good all rounder. It has been excellent on the flat and in the ocean. It won't be a hardcore down wind board like a V2 bullet or WOW GSR Wraith or pure flat water like an SIC XPRO Lite but for someone who wants a bit of both I think it fits the bill really nicely. To be honest I'm not a massive fan of the new Jav's but even if you do like the Jav, look at the price point. It would be worth going and seeing AA and taking it for a run.
