Hey again guys
Wondering if anyone has surfed both of these SUPs and would have any feedback.
Also has anyone had a windsurfing rig on either of these boards and would either board be capable of planing.
Rgds
Darren
Hey Darren, I have not surfed the Nalu but owned a 10"2 JP Fusion for almost 12 months and was very happy with it, but just traded it on a Naish Hokua LE 9'1 which is obviously a much looser board in the surf. The JP was my second board, and was great for flat water and small-medium surf, and fairly easy to turn with the stepped down rails. Cheers - Cooper
Thanks for the feedback Cooper, really appreciate it. Trying to work out what you want/need is a bit of a nightmare.
If I dont pick the right one I'll be buggered cause my wife wont let me buy another one for at least 5 years.....
Hi Darren, I have surfed both lots. The JP was and still is my favorite. I had the 10'8, graduated to the 10'2 and now surf the 9'8 (which is a big step down)
I have the 11'4 Nalu and was demoing the 10'6 but really the JP and the Nalu are different. i think you will find the JP more versatile, the nalu is a longboard, fun but when it gets bigger you will appreciate the 10'2, the JP turns like a short board, whereas you have to turn the Nalu as a long board i found they dont like a rail turn.
But if point breaks and nose riding is you thing then the Nalu might be better ![]()
Enjoy

I recently got a 2014 10-6 Nalu GT. Must have been the drip-drip brainwashing effect of DJ's videos... Actually, I've got bored of trying to go ever smaller over the last 7 years when our conditions just don't warrant it, and want to get back to messing about just having fun when SUSing, and also return to longboard style surfing. It's a great board, perfect for what I wanted. And it's true that it will surf anything from double overhead to ankle slappers. Sure, I wouldn't say it's exactly ideal in double OH, but I tried it and it coped fine. But it is as has been said, very much a longboard style so if you don't have the skills to enjoy that, or are wanting a shortboard feel in a big board, then maybe it wouldn't be right. It's a helluva lot of fun though and it's so nice to have a board that you know will work in pretty much anything.
