Hello guys,

I started sup in september 2013, and I bought myself a Naish glide GX 2014 two months ago.
I weight 85 kgs, 1.83m tall. I'm looking for a flatwater SUP Race. I would like to find a board who could suit my need for speed, more challenging than the uber stable glide 29 inches wide.
I usually paddle in a bay where I can join the open ocean in 15 minutes, or stay in the lagoon for several hours, so usually I got a lot of side winds and upwinds.
I want to get a board who could provide me an easy feeling of speed and a good slicing water shape. I would like to get a board who doesn't hit the chop too much when you're doing a lot of sup upwind or sidewind.

I can find the following boards in my usual stores:
Naish javelin LE X26
F-one Race Pro 14 x 26
JP Australia race allwater 14 x 26.5 2014
Starboard ACE or Allstar 25 or 26" x 14' 2014
SIC X14 PRO x 26
Fanatic ?

Thx for your help.

Some of what you are hoping to find is in conflict with others. On the Starboard side of things, the All Star will vertainly feel like it is slicing though the chop in headwind and crosswind situations compared with the Ace, which will boof its way over the waves. However in most instances, the actual speed of the Ace is faster, it just doesn't seem like it on the water.

I would have thought the GX you have would suffice based on what you have described...

The 14 Jav GX is an awesome choice for flat river type conditions, super fast, low displacement bow, little tippy. It just isnt that great for open ocean chop and swells.

The 14 JAV LE however is really good in every condition and eats chop. The first thing I noticed is how well it is to control in side chop. Very stable ride. At your weight and height the X26 would be more suitable.
