Gday all,

Same deal as the original post!

I am about 55kg, 170cm female that wants to purchase a board for flat and small wave supping.
Any advice would be welcome.

Due to the nature of my job I am quite fit and strong (not blowing smoke out my bum here ha ha) so I do have a bit of strength in my small frame.

Cheers
Sam

At your weight something like the 10'6'' Nalu would be an excellent choice for your first board.. It's a great do-it-all board.

There's a large group of women here in Melbourne that all use this board.

The 10' Laird Hybrid and Surfers are nice refined boards, which.are great in small waves. The.Hybrid paddles well on flawater. For a fit lady I would not go any bigger. If anything, it will.get clumsy carrying it around.

Big Huey could obviously afford to go longer by at least six inches or more. 11' would be a good target for a first board.

Most other manufacturers also make longboard shaped boards that the hold their width in the tail and nose with nice even bottom curves. They are great to paddle and fun to surf! There are tons of threads about the same

And there's the 10'6" Alana which is the same board but with 'girly' graphics
