Hi All
I am new to SUP. I have demoed a Fly which I enjoyed heaps. I started to take it out in the surf but haven't had the time to demo further. Where I currently live it is difficult to demo boards. This will change in July when I move back to the coast. My background is as a sea kayaker. I can also wake board and ski but have never put my hand to surfing. I want to give it a red hot go and will work hard to getting there. I have been looking for ex demo boards and have found reasonable prices on a Fanatic Fly 10, Naish Mana 10 and Coreban Rocket 10,6. I am 176cm @ 83kg. Aside from working my way to being a proficient surfer I want something I can throw my toddlers on and paddle in flat water on occasion. All advice appreciated.
Hi mickeyb,
i am same weight have a 10' mana can go flat water paddling with my 8 & 6yr old on front they love it & am saving up for grom boards for them. The mana also is fun in small surf super stable but you will not be able to stop with one board once the bug bites you will want a smaller board for in the surf when it picks up im at that stage know.good advice i have had from crew on seabreeze is demo as many boards as you can.enjoy.calbs![]()
Mickeyb,
If your looking at boards in the 10' range, try the coreban Icon. Probably a little easier to surf on than the 10'6 and will float your 80od kg's with no drama.
Ok, I like this size and the boards, and sorry to hijack MickeyB
But add just shy of 40kgs and only a surf focus, and in the coreban i am think Ez
