I have lost 2 FCS 2 longboard fins (the ones that don't need a tool, and you can adjust easily). I used the spacer and everything, and even checked it and it seemed to have a tight fit. Anybody else had luck with them? Any techniques to keep them in? The FCS support website is down, so I can't ask them.

I have had no problem with them.

From what I gather, this is a problem with some fin boxes: too wide, or not enough depth between the ridge and the bottom of the box so the roller on the pin does not properly locks in the inner ridge, in which case the spacer will make things worse.

There are a lot of different US fin boxes out there, of varying quality.

There are two longboard boxes. Bahne, and US.
Not really compatible. The click in works ok in the Bahne, not so much in the US.

Usually a much more annoying problem with raceboards.

The height of the pin is different, and the US likes to see a hump instead of a flat base..

I think it was the fin box. Used a screw in fin again. have now sold that board. Cheers

Yeah, I don't get a "click" when I put them in, which I kinda expected. I read of another Sunova board rider that he had the same issue.

FCSII click-in fins don't fit a lot of SUP boards properly. Try one in your finbox before you buy one.
click-in fins are a bit of a PITA IMO. Whereas with a traditional fin you can sand it or shim it to fit most boards, if your FCSII click-in fin doesn't fit, you are pretty much stuffed. There are SO many reports of them falling out, and quite a few where they won't go in (as with a couple of my boards). I have about 30 SUPs and can only use FCS click-in fins in about 25% of them.

I have not tried it (yet), but the finjak seems like the ideal solution...
